High Score Awards

Each year we present the top 6 alumni in both Western & Hunt Seat with ribbons and saddle prizes to celebrate their accomplishments across the regular IHSA season.

2023 Sponsors include Jessie’s Specialty Pads and In memory of Jeff Dye.

In order to be eligible to receive a high score award, you must be an active alumni for the academic IHSA season and be entered into the ATOC show. Awards are presented at the Exhibitor Party the night before ATOC competition.

High Score Awards are calculated using the regular season points data which must be sent to ATOC (alumnitoc@gmail.com) and include the breakdown of all points in each class held. ATOC combines the show points and counts your top 7 shows towards the award. Aka if you showed on 9/24 and were 1st in alumni fences or ranch (7 points) and 2nd on the flat or horsemanship (5 points) you receive 12 points for that show towards the award.

The perpetual trophy is awarded to EITHER the 1st place Hunt Seat OR Western rider with the higher amount of points in their winning high score award.

The Founders Battle

The richest class in Collegiate style Catch riding
$500 in prize money awarded

The Founders Battle invites past winners of the Alumni Cup to battle in a two phase competition for once in a decade bragging rights. This class will only be held every 10 years. The class will be run with all riders receiving a score over fences and on the flat for hunt seat and reining and horsemanship for Western. Additional testing at the discretion of the judge if the point spread between any of the top 4 competitors is within 2 points. Management reserves the option to either not run the class or open to Future Alumni Cup Champions if less than 6 Alumni Cup champions enter. There is no entry fee for this class. However, if riders are not entered in any other classes at the show, management will assess the $20 admin fee (like every other rider) to officially become an exhibitor of the show.

The first Founders Battle was held at the 10th anniversary show. The first Western Founders battle will occur at the 2023 ATOC Competition.
